Bank Clerk plays a very significant role in Indian banking system. The Basic Pay of clerk is ₹11765 and Gross Salary is ₹19589.87. The bank clerk salary is mostly same in private and government banks but allowances may vary. The banks which recruit through IBPS can have different allowance structure as compared to SBI or other public banks. The salary is slightly higher in metropolitan cities as compared to rural areas.

Bank Clerk Exam & Syllabus

Bank Clerk Exam - In order to join the post of Clerical Cadre in various banks, the candidate has to clear two phases of exam - Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam. After completion of both phases, a merit list is issued based on marks obtained. Since, the assessment is divided into two phases, syllabus is little different for both preliminary exam and main exam. The subjects in preliminary exam are Reasoning, English Language and Numerical Ability. Whereas the subjects for main exams are Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Financial Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language.
