About MBA IIFT


IIFT is a national-level entrance test and is a gateway for admission to MBA programme. The exam is conducted on a yearly basis by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi for admission to the MBA (IB) programme it offers. IIFT scores are accepted by Indian Institute Of Foreign Trade, Delhi and Indian Institute Of Foreign Trade, Kolkata. The Delhi Campus has 220 seats and there are 200 seats in Kolkata Campus. The seats have been reserved as per Government of India norms. IIFT has always been successful at maintaining an excellent track record of placements at both of its campuses. A lot of companies have been regularly visiting this institute for recruiting students and students have been offered a variety of domestic and international roles. The placement record defines the reputation of this institute and also validates the scope of this course.

IIFT Syllabus

IIFT Exam is of moderate difficulty with approx 114 MCQs to be answered in 2 hours. It must be noted that clearing IIFT exam does not guarantee admission to the institute. Candidates who clear IIFT exam will be called for Essay Writing, Group Discussions and Personal Interview. Final selection will be based on the marks obtained in IIFT and performance in Essay Writing, GD and PI. The syllabus as per topics are:Quantitative Ability - Simple Interest, Ratio, Percentage, Probability.
Verbal Ability - Idioms & Phrases, Fill in the Blanks, One word substitution, Jumbled sentences, Analogy.
Logical Reasoning - Arguments, Conclusion, Clocks, Blood Relations Reading Comprehension.
Current Affairs – Business & Economy, Fact based data driven topics
Data Interpretation - Charts and Graphs with Tables, Bar Diagrams and Comparative Tables. General Awareness - Personalities, Books and Authors, Matching the logos, Business & Economy.

IIFT Eligibility

  • The candidate must have a recognised Bachelor's degree of at least 3 years duration in any discipline.
  • Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply. However such candidates have to submit the proof of requisite qualification.
  • Candidates belonging to general category must have secured at least 50% marks in graduation and candidates belonging to SC/ST categories must have secured a minimum of 45% in graduation
  • There is no age limit for the applicants.
