JEE Main score is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and even certain private engineering and architecture courses in colleges. A cut-off is also released for the candidates to qualify for JEE Advanced exam which is an entrance gateway for admission to the highly reputed Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). JEE Main Result 2019 Score will be used to prepare All India Rank (AIR) List and State Merit Lists on the basis of which seats are allocated to NITs, IIITs and other Central and State Government funded institutes. This year, a total of 9,29,198 students registered for the JEE Main in January against 9,35,741 appearing for the same in April session. However in architecture courses the number of registered candidates dropped from 1,80,052 in January to 1,69,767 in April with a dip of 10,285 students.
JEE Main Result 2019 result has been announced in online mode by the authorities on April 29 for Paper 1. As the Paper was conducted in multi-shifts, raw marks obtained by the candidates in different sessions has been converted to normalized NTA Score. The authorities will prepare the final rank list of candidates by merging the normalized NTA scores for all the sessions. The IIT JEE result for January was announced on January 19. This result comprised of four NTA scores for each of the three subjects- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry along with the total marks obtained in Paper-1 of JEE Main 2019 for the first attempt. The same procedure will be applied to calculate the IIT entrance result for second attempt.
NTA released the merit list of JEE Main on April 30 in online mode. There was a combined rank list of JEE Main for both the attempts which mentioned the details of candidates qualified for IIT results 2019. The percentile score of a candidate is basically the score obtained after using normalization method (instead of the raw marks of the candidate) which is used for preparation of the merit lists. The four NTA scores for each of the candidates in Paper-1 for both the first and second attempt will be merged for compilation of result and preparation of overall JEE Main 2019 using the normalization formula. Candidates who will appear in both the attempts out of which their best of the two NTA scores will be considered to prepare the merit list. Only the score obtained in JEE Main 2019 will be included while releasing JEE Main Rank list name wise. The result of JEE Main shows whether the candidate has qualified for IIT exam or not, subject to meeting other eligibility criteria.
