About IRMASAT


The Institute of Rural Management Anand is India's leading school in rural management committed to act as the catalyst and facilitator for rural prosperity. IRMA educates and inspires to work with organisations serving the rural sector and engaging directly with rural communities. IRMASAT is conducted by Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). IRMA Social Awareness Test or IRMASAT scores are used for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management(PGDRM) and Fellow Programme in Rural Management(FPRM). This two-year residential programme has been recognised as equivalent to a Master's degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and approved by AICTE. The students pursuing this programme are highly valued in local, national and international cooperatives, NGOs, development organisations, and funding agencies. All participants are suitably placed in different organisations through the IRMA Campus Placement programme.

IRMASAT Eligibility

  • Only applicable after the candidate has been shortlisted to appear in IRMASAT on the basis of profile or on merit score obtained in CAT or XAT exam.
  • A candidate must be a graduate from any discipline with a minimum of 15 years of education.
  • The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks (45% or above for SC/ST/Differently Abled Person) or equivalent CGPA as per the IRMASAT.
  • A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible.

IRMASAT Syllabus and Selection Process IRMASAT exam syllabus defines the key source topic of 'Issues of Social Concern'. The important topics in IRMASAT exam syllabus is Agriculture & Rural India.

This subject also covers the key topics such as Definitions of Agriculture related activities, Government schemes related to Agriculture and Rural Development, Various National and International organizations concerning the Agriculture and Rural development with special reference to India and underdeveloped countries, Government Announcements and statistical data on Agriculture and Rural India, Abbreviations of various schemes – PMRY, NREGA, Poverty Line definition – BPL, GDP Measurement, Five Year Plans, Indian Economy, Co-operative Movement in India, Key Current Social Issues like Me Too Campaign – Women empowerment, Swachh Bharat Mission: Success is still at Large, Retirement Homes, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao: Will it abolish the orthodox mindset?, India & uniform civil code, Smart City Project etc. IRMA shortlists candidates on the basis of CAT previous year, XAT current year scores for admission. In the final selection process, the candidates must appear for IRMASAT which is Social Awareness Test at IRMA. The final selection at IRMA is based on the CAT/XAT exam score, performance in IRMASAT, Group Activity, and Personal Interview. It is compulsory for applicants to appear for CAT / XAT as well as IRMASAT. For Admissions, IRMA will be giving two types of calls to the prospective candidates:

  • Profile Based Calls
  • Non Profile Based Calls

Candidates who score above 80 percentile in CAT/XAT fall in the Profile based call criteria are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT and GD/PI process.

Candidates who score above 85 percentile in CAT/XAT and fall in the Non-Profile based call criteria are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT and GD/PI process.
