The comprehensive following table lists out the GATE exam eligibility 2020 criteria. In general students who are in the final year of graduation or the students who have completed are eligible candidates.
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an national level entrance exam for admission to PG courses in the field of engineering and technology. Candidates can get admissions into M.Tech./Ph.D. programmes in IITs , IISc, IISERs and other reputed institutions through GATE score. GATE Syllabus for any stream is a very exhaustive one covering 10-14 subjects from the engineering stream. Students appearing in GATE exam must analyze the GATE Syllabus and exam pattern before starting the preparation.
International candidates should have completed Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology or Post-graduate (M.Sc.) degree in any relevant science subject and must have the proof of qualification which must be uploaded at the time of applying online. The candidates can upload certificate given by the head of the institution if they have not yet received their provisional or the degree certificate. If the student has completed his degree in 2019 or prior, he/she must submit the degree certificate or the provisional certificate.

As part of the online application, the students must upload scanned photograph, signature, thumb impression, degree certificate or category certificate
International candidates are also eligible to apply
Application procedure for international candidates is same as Indians
International candidates must possess a valid passport to apply
GATE 2020 will also be conducted in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates
Candidates having master's degree in Science, Mathematics and Computer Application are permitted for GATE. Candidates of 2nd year or higher of 4 years duration post graduation level engineering programme may also apply. There is no limit of maximum age.
An applicant can give GATE unlimited times, but each result of an attempt is valid for next 3 years only after its result date. There is no number of attempts limit for the GATE.
